Civil Unrest in Nelson Mandela Bay [video]

WE in South Africa are back in the apartheid days. Nothing has changed and freedom of the press doesn’t exist. I was barred from taking pics and threatened with confiscation of my equipment at a riot scene today by the SAP media liaison.

I’ve experienced more than 10 years of riots and civil unrest in the 80’s and lived through military and police operations. The unrest I’ve covered over the last year and what happened in Marikana has many similarities with the past. It seems we’re in a counter revolutionary cycle.
